On our way from Walvis Bay to Sandwich Bay, we stopped to see the beautiful flamingos. We were surprised to learn that these flamingos can fly up to 40 miles per hour!
After viewing the lava fields, we enjoyed a stop at the Bodegas Rubicon, where we tasted some of the local wine and cheese. The vineyards here are very different looking-vines are planted inside semicircular lava stone walls in rows. The wine is refreshing and we brought back a few bottles to enjoy on the ship. I’ve included some pictures of the winery, which was very beautiful.
Last night we docked in Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. We were lucky enough to arrive here on a special day-a holiday in Hobart- regatta day and wooden boat day. To celebrate the occasion, we had a musical evening with a Tasmanian band and a fireworks show from Hobart!
They’re prettier than our flamingos in Florida! -Jackie
